Hard martial arts &#8211; such as <strong>boxing, kickboxing and Thai boxing (Muay Thai)<\/strong> &#8211; offer just that. <\/p>\n<p>A systematic review by Origua Rios et al. (2018) provides impressive evidence that martial arts can do far more than just self-defense. Used correctly, it is a tool for holistic health promotion &#8211; physically, mentally and emotionally.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3>\ud83d\udcaa Physical benefits: Functional fitness, strength &amp; endurance<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Boxing and Thai boxing challenge the whole body<\/strong>. They combine endurance, strength, speed and coordination training in one discipline &#8211; in a playful, highly dynamic way. According to studies, the following effects can be observed after a regular training period (from 11 weeks, at least twice a week):  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Improved cardiovascular performance<\/strong><br \/>\nThe interval principle in boxing training works in a similar way to HIIT &#8211; it increases endurance, strengthens the heart and lowers blood pressure and resting heart rate.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Increased muscle strength and flexibility<\/strong><br \/>\nFunctional muscles are strengthened through punching and kicking techniques as well as footwork &#8211; not in isolation, but holistically.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Improved balance &amp; coordination<\/strong><br \/>\nThe deep muscles are activated, especially during Thai boxing techniques with kicks, clinches and evasive movements &#8211; this also prevents injuries in everyday life.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Body toning &amp; fat loss<\/strong><br \/>\nDue to the high calorie consumption (up to 800 kcal\/hour), boxing and Muay Thai are ideal for weight loss.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;29698&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; css=&#8221;&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3>\ud83e\udde0 Mental effects: Concentration, self-confidence &amp; resilience<\/h3>\n<p>What many underestimate: <strong>Boxing is all in the head<\/strong>. Every movement has to be planned, every reaction anticipated, every situation read. Why? Because boxing training:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>promotes the processing of emotions,<\/li>\n<li>strengthens body awareness,<\/li>\n<li>can release emotional blockages,<\/li>\n<li>and self-efficacy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A structured introduction to regular, disciplined boxing or Thai boxing training can be extremely valuable<strong>, especially for mild forms of anxiety, exhaustion or incipient burnout<\/strong>. This is exactly what my clients experience in my personal training: clear routines, physical activation and emotional stability &#8211; in a protected, non-judgmental environment. <\/p>\n<p>I accompany my clients individually, empathetically and with great sensitivity &#8211; whether as a supplement to therapeutic support or as a stabilizing element in everyday life.
